Where to Find a Tutor in Las Vegas

Where to Find a Tutor in Las VegasThere are two ways to find a tutor in Las Vegas. You can either find a private tutor online or you can look in the yellow pages and type in 'Therapist'Psychologist'. You will have to be careful in choosing a therapist since they work with people with issues that are not their own. You will want to avoid therapists who will try to force you into a fixed treatment plan. The other way to find a private tutor is to check with your health insurance provider. In most cases your insurance will pay for therapy but you may have to cover the costs of the program. Find out if you will have to pay anything towards this expense before you sign up.Another way to find a therapist is to see if the therapist has any patients. If you are a counselor, you will know which clients work well together. For example, if you are a psychotherapist, you may choose a therapist who specialize in schizophrenia, rather than a person who specialize in bipolar disorder. You will want to avoid therapists who specialize in working with teenagers or adults. Finally, when you decide on a therapist, make sure you are dealing with a licensed therapist. There are laws against fraudulent therapists, so make sure you are dealing with someone who is working with licensed therapists. Remember that a licensed therapist is someone who has passed a standardized test, so make sure you are getting a professional who is approved by a regulatory agency. When you want to find a tutor in Las Vegas, make sure you speak with the person in person. Chances are they will already know what city you are in so it will be easier for them to help you. You will want to find a professional who speaks fluent Spanish and someone who live in the area. You will also want to find someone who is flexible about when you need to schedule your sessions. Many therapists have rules about being available the first week of the month and others have no minimum number of appointments you have to make to get sta rted.Remember, you will not have to make any commitments about time until you find a tutor. Ask for a free consultation to see if there is a possibility of moving forward and seeing if this is a good fit for you.

How to Eat Healthy Without Leaving Your Dorm

How to Eat Healthy Without Leaving Your Dorm Image via http://pixabay.com Healthy sandwiches An easy way to get a wholesome meal when you’re at school is to order a simple sandwich from a local café or restaurant. Choosing whole grain over white bread and choosing a sandwich full of vegetables will fill you up without making you feel greasy or sluggish in other words, it will make a great study food. When you order online, you can typically customize your sandwiches exactly how you want them. Stick to lean meats and avoid overdoing it with cheese or mayo, and ask for extra lettuce or other veggies for a healthier option. If you’re given the choice for a side, go for a salad instead of French Fries or chips. Image via http://pixabay.com Sushi Sushi is a great option when you’re ordering in and want something healthy and light. In addition to being flavorful, it offers a multitude of health benefits: nori, the outer layer of sushi, provides you with Vitamins A, B, and C, as well as minerals, while the seafood is typically high in protein, omega-3s, and vitamin D. Though you wouldn’t necessarily want to eat it too often the mercury in some types of fish can have negative health consequences if you consume too much of it it’s perfect for a light snack or a full meal. Given its popularity, you can probably find a sushi restaurant wherever you are that delivers to your campus at an affordable price. Some will even deliver late into the night, so instead of reaching for the junk food, you can indulge yourself in a more nutritious midnight snack. Image via http://pixabay.com Chinese If you have a craving for Chinese, skip the Panda Express and look for more authentic Chinese food with lots of veggies. Sautéed broccoli, Bok choy, and snow peas, for instance, are great sources of antioxidants. Given they’re typically prepared with garlic or spices, you’ll be getting the health benefits without missing out on any flavor. Another way to make your order healthier is to opt for brown rice over white rice; because you produce brown rice by removing only the hull of the rice kernel, it retains more fiber and nutrients than white rice. Miso soup is another nice, light option that offers a range of health benefits, due to its main ingredient of miso paste. It relieves fatigue, decreases cholesterol and blood pressure levels, and lowers the risk of diseases such as cancer. Image via http://pixabay.com Mexican Like Chinese, Mexican food is easy to have delivered straight to your dorm when you don’t have time to go out. For healthier options, tend toward dishes stocked with veggies and protein; a veggie taco with a side of beans, for example, is a great option for a filling and well-balanced meal. Fajitas are also a good choice, as you can fill them with lean meat and vegetables. If you’re in the mood for something small, a serving of rice and beans is simple but nutritious the beans give you protein and the rice gives you carbohydrates, so you won’t be left feeling unsatisfied. Image via http://pixabay.com Salads When you’re presented with a myriad of options for what to eat, salad may seem like a boring alternative. However, there are many restaurants that offer unique salads that won’t leave you feeling hungry or ripped off. If you like kale, a kale salad is a great option; it is both a “superfood” and fairly filling. By mixing it up with your toppings and dressings, you can always have a new type of salad delivered straight to you without it feeling as dull as the Caesar salad from your dining hall. You can also toss in grains such as quinoa for extra texture. Image via http://pixabay.com Smoothies and juices If you have a nearby café that delivers, try ordering a smoothie or juice the next time you’re hungry but aren’t in the mood for a full meal. Especially when made with fresh ingredients, these drinks are an easy way to get the health benefits out of fruits and vegetables. While you might need to watch out for the sugar used in some smoothie recipes, overall they are a great alternative to snacking on chips or going out for ice cream. What will you choose? Top 3 Ways to Stay Organized

Top 3 Ways to Stay Organized It's the first exam day of your fall school course and you are panicking--where did your review sheet go? Wasn't it just in your backpack last night? You pull out a stack of papers and a folder that's ripped at the seam from your bag, stuck to it is an old piece of gum, when was the last time you even looked at this stuff? Your panic increases as you realize there are only minutes before the review is due and it is nowhere to be found, panicking even more as your stress level jumps through the roof. You stare at the Everest-sized pile of papers and folder that looks like it's been to a war zone and realize--it may be time for you to get organized, once and for all. How do you approach what seems to be such a colossal task? In this post I will provide you with my top 3 ways to stay organized and stress-free this semester, it's easier than you think: #1: Create a Routine: The hardest part of organization is keeping up with a daily routine. Start by reminding yourself to do simple tasks such as recycling old assignments from the week, keeping your pens and pencils in the same pocket of your backpack or making sure current assignments are going into the notebook or folder you have labeled for them. This will allow you to train yourself to begin doing these things automatically, or without thinking about them, and will greatly reduce the massive amount of time that would be spent on one giant clean every few months. #2: Use an Online Planner or Calendar Let's face it; it is difficult in this day and age to keep up with using a paper planner or calendar when our lives are centered around technology. Using an online planner or calendar allows you to stay on top of upcoming assignments, projects and exams while also utilizing the technology you are already familiar with. It can be as simple as using the calendar feature on your mobile phone, using Google Calendar, downloading an app onto your tablet, or even finding a blank calendar template online to fill in as you go. This can be incorporated into your daily routine so you can be ready when your teacher mentions an assignment, and input it as soon as possible into whichever planning tool you decide to use. This will ensure you never miss a deadline again! (Note: If pen and paper is more your style, make sure to get a planner that is large enough to fit all subjects and assignments, as it is easy to run out of space). #3: Clean as you Go Nothing is more daunting than staring at a mountain-sized mound of papers that need to be sorted through. As we all know, some assignments are meant to be kept while others can be recycled after they have been used--this adds up quickly, often times too quickly, and can lead to a stressful situation for you when it comes time to clean. This last tip is simple: just clean as you go! Have assignments that are no longer needed? Recycle them. Noticing that your folders/binders are starting to gain some weight in your bag? Sift through them and discard the ones that aren't necessary to keep. This will allow you to completely rid yourself of the stress that accompanies sorting through assignment after assignment after months of them piling up. Add this to your daily routine, simply because it is much easier to take a minute to glance at a folder rather than take an hour to clean that one folder out. So, you now possess the simple skills for staying organized on a daily basis, it is up to you to use them! Have a fantastic summer and keep an eye out for upcoming blog posts!
